A comprehensive evaluation is done one on one with a therapist to assess dysfunctions and compensations of the oral and facial structures. This is where we will review medical history, assess function and development, and take measurements of the jaw and tongue. We use this to create a customized therapy plan that’s best for you; including length of therapy, cost, and any recommended treatments or adjunct services.

Comprehensive Evaluation

This therapy program will be designed just for you, based on your medical history, oral habits, and symptoms. Your therapist will determine how many sessions are needed to achieve the individual's goals of therapy, as well as the four main goals of myofunctional therapy: nasal breathing, tongue posture, lip seal and proper swallowing pattern. We will help you retrain musculature and get rid of habits that are working against you.

Tongue ties do not allow the tongue to get up in the palate or move freely. To prepare for a frenectomy, there are exercises we will teach you, to make the procedure easier and more successful. Post operative therapy prevents the tissue from reattaching and encourages proper healing. Tongue retraining may be recommended to ensure correct swallowing and breathing.

Pre / Post Operative
Frenectomy Exercise

This mini myo program is beneficial for young children to eliminate low tongue posture, tongue thrust, and/or effects from other anatomical dysfunctions and underdevelopments. This is an ideal time to guide growth and practice proper swallowing and nasal breathing. This is designed for children who were not quite ready for a full comprehensive program.

A thirty minute question and answer session; this session can be done in office, via telehealth or phone call. It is designed to get to know each other and learn how we can help you. A comprehensive evaluation and assessment will then need to be done to develop an individualized therapy program for you.

Complimentary Q+A

This program assists your child in the cessation of detrimental oral habits when the child is on board but needs help following through. This includes thumb or finger sucking, pacifier use, nail biting or any other non-nutritive oral routines. These noxious habits can alter jaw growth and development while predisposing the child to breathing difficulties and compromised sleep.
